FAQ - Buy Unit Trusts online
Existing clients can now add onto their existing portfolios or invest in other STANLIB portfolio’s on STANLIB Online, our secure website.
You will be required to apply for transactability access and you will only be able to perform transactions once your details have been successfully verified and authenticated by STANLIB.
Follow these simple steps:
- Logon to STANLIB Online with your STANLIB user id.
- Click on the “Update Access Level” menu item.
- Select “Enquire and Transact level 2” from the selection.
- Select the bank account you wish to use for transactions on STANLIB Online (only your personal bank account may be used for these transaction purposes).
- Submit
- STANLIB will then confirm your details and upon completion of the authentication process, a confirmation email of your successful transaction registration will be sent to you.
You have the option to select between a recurring debit order and a once-off debit order.Should you wish to make an electronic direct deposit into your existing portfolio, follow the below steps:
Standard Bank Internet Banking users
- Logon to the Standard Bank web site (www.standardbank.co.za)
- Click on Internet banking
- Logon to the secure web site
- Select payments and add a beneficiary
- Search for STANLIB Collective Investments
- My Reference: Investor’s name
- Beneficiary Reference: STANLIB Unit Trust account number proceeded by leading 0’s
(i.e. Acc. 7503057 should be 007503057) to form a ten digit number.
Non-Standard Bank Internet Banking users
STANLIB Collective Investments is a listed beneficiary with other banks (Nedbank, FNB and ABSA). Investors should follow each beneficiary’s payment process or alternatively use the normal electronic payment system.
Below are the steps to follow when doing the normal electronic transfer to STANLIB Collective Investment:
- Bank Name: Standard Bank
- Account Type: “1” or Current
- Account number: 403245 (only number to use)
- Branch name and number: 051001 (all branches use this number)
- Reference: Your STANLIB Unit Trust account number proceeded by leading 0’s
(i.e. Acc. 7503057 should be 007503057) to form a ten digit number.
If you have been authenticated by STANLIB and have received the necessary access to purchase Unit Trusts online you will not be required to submit FICA documentation.
No, you can only currently buy Domestic, Rand-denominated international and Multi-Manager funds online.
If you received investment advice from an Intermediary with your initial unit trusts application and they are recorded on our systems as your Intermediary, they will receive commission as per your initial application form.
